Parents Activating
Living Skills
(PALS)
This series offers a lively approach to parenting instruction.
The PALS series is never generic or "canned." The seminars
zero in on many of the parenting problems often encountered in today's
world. The following represents just some of what the PALS programs
offer to parents and referring agencies:
· A wide range of workshops that focus on many of the issues
that parents, whether they are divorcing or not, experience with
child-raising issues!
· Specific help for difficult parenting issues, such as
safety planning after a child has been traumatized in some manner,
and much more!
· Parenting issues that span many age groups and issues!
· Non-boring presentations and practice sessions that are
useful and practical!
· Low cost, convenient seminar or individual scheduling!
· Easy to understand concepts - a definite hallmark of the
PALS series!
Seguin Family Institute offers the following PALS

is practiced as parents learn that co-parenting is forever.
(4 hours)
PALS 2: Warring Pals
Co-operative parenting for couples with chronic and severe angry, hurt
feelings. Participants learn how to identify and target problems in their
relationships, their communication with others, and themselves. Communication
practice focuses on developing empathy, putting the children's needs before
the war, and how to find the peace that only a real truce can bring.
(4 hours)
Prerequisite: Completion of PALS 1
PALS 3: Basic Pals
Basic parenting instruction for anyone who takes on the challenge of raising
kids. Participants learn to identify and communicate appropriate expectations,

to communicate so kids will listen and knowing how to listen so kids will
talk are skills that are taught.
(8 hours)
PALS 4: Protective Pals
Parenting for families with children who have been abused or hurt in some
manner. This workshop also addresses the special needs of parents who
have children who have hurt someone else. Participants learn how to allow
the child to be and feel safe while emotionally healing. Participants
learn the differences between enabling and empowering. They learn the
difference between privacy and secrets while they practice setting and
keeping safety boundaries in the household.
(8 hours)
PALS 5: Blended Pals
Parenting for families experiencing a re-marriage. Participants
learn appropriate expectations for the kids and the adults of these
newly-forming family systems. Allowing time and opportunity for
